The family of late Big Brother Naija star, Patrick Adebowale Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey, has announced the arrangements for his funeral.
Rico died on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in a hospital in Lagos from injuries he sustained from a fatal car crash.
Plans for his funeral were shared on Twitter on Tuesday morning, October 18.
According to the obituary released by his family and management team, a night of tribute and candlelight walk will take place at Retro Citi, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Wednesday, October 19.
This will be followed by a private service at the Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu Square, and he will be laid to rest at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi, on Thursday, October 20.
The obituary was shared on his verified Twitter handle with the caption,
“With a heavy heart, we invite all friends and fans of Rico Swavey to his tribute night/candle light walk tomorrow as we witness a star supernova. Thank you all”.
In other news, a policeman got arrested for the murder of two women, aged 18 and 24, in Durban, South Africa.
The incident is reported to have taken place in Mandela Park, KwaNyuswa, west of Durban, in the early hours of Friday morning, October 14, 2022.
The 18-year-old victim, identified as one Njabulo Enhle Majozi, is said to be the suspect’s girlfriend. According to reports, the cop shot the other woman first and Enhle tried to run away. He allegedly shot her outside then dragged her back into the house to create a fake crime scene.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson, Lizzy Suping, who confirmed the incident stated that a preliminary investigation is under way and the cop was arrested.
