The family and friends of Bumpa co-founder Adetunji Opayele, popularly known as Teejay, are demanding justice after he lost his life in a tragic accident allegedly caused by a negligent driver.

Reports state that the software engineer was involved in the fatal accident caused by a reckless female driver after completing his workout routine from iFitness Gym, in Victoria Island.

According to petition circulating online, the driver, identified as Biola Adams-Odutayo refused take him to an hospital despite been an healthcare professional.

She allegedly refused to check on Teejay or offer any assistance leaving him in the hands of bystanders who struggled to help him. When confronted she said her reason for her inaction was ‘she doesn’t want blood to stain her car’.

Teejay was eventually rushed to multiple hospitals but was rejected until he was finally admitted past midnight only to be declared dead shortly after.

His family and friends further allege that since the incident Biola Adams-Odutayo and her family have been using their ‘connections’ to avoid proper punishment.

Instead of being charged with manslaughter, Biola was detained for just one night and later released on bail for a million Naira.

Since then, she has allegedly ignored police summons while Teejay’s family grieved.

Now, his loved ones are demanding justice and calling on the Lagos State Ministry of Justice to ensure transparency in handling the case.
