Scottish actor, Sean Connery has died at the age of 90.
The multi-award winning actor is famous for his portrayal of James Bond, and was the first to play the role. Connery was esteemed as being the best actor to have played 007 in the long-running franchise.
The news of his demise was reported by BBC news on Saturday, October 31.
The Edinburg-born actor’s career spanned over 40 years and bagged one Oscar, two BAFTA and three Golden Globes.
He also starred in seven of the spy movies including Dr. No, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever, Never Say Never Again. Sir Sean’s other films included The Hunt for Red October, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Rock.
The actor’s son, Jason Connery revealed that his father died peacefully in his sleep, while in the Bahamas, having been sick for some time
He added,
“We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time.
“A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.”
