In a new report, five police officers have been confirmed dead after a bunch of hoodlums attacked the Okigwe South Area command on Monday April 26.
The spokesperson of the state’s police command, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, while confirming the incident, said one of the officers is yet to be accounted for. He added that the command’s building wasn’t razed.
The attack comes days weeks after hoodlums stormed the state headquarters as well as the state’s correctional center and released several inmates.
It was reported days ago of how unknown gunmen attacked the country home of Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma in Omuma in Oru East local government area of the state.
The attack was reported to have happened in the early hours of April 24. Two of his security aides were killed by the gunmen who also set the building on fire.
Cars and other valuables in the building as well, were affected as a result of the inferno. Efforts are currently being made to stop the fire.
