The Nigeria Football Federation, has taken to Twitter to confirm that the venue for the international friendly match between Nigeria and Algeria has been changed.
The match which was initially scheduled to hold at the Jacques Lemmans Arena, will now take place at the Worthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt.
It was gathered that the venue was changed on the request of the Algeria Football Federation.
The new venue, Worthersee stadium has a 30,000 capacity, compared to the initial venue in the southern Austrian state of Carinthia which can only take 2,420 spectators.
Although there’s a change in venue for the international friendly match, the date and time, scheduled for Friday at 7.30 p.m. (Nigerian time), remain unchanged.
The NFF confirmed the new development in a photo posted on its official Twitter handle @NGSuperEagles.
Similarly, a local official was quoted by DZ Football, he stated,
“It is at the request of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) that this change takes place in order to allow the two teams to evolve in a larger enclosure and on an excellent lawn” .
