The Guinness World Record has disqualified Ghanaian chef Falia, who attempted to break the longest cooking hour record by cooking for 227 hours.
Chef Falia whose aim was to achieve the longest cooking marathon by an individual commenced the task on January 1st, 2024.
After cooking nonstop for ten days to surpass the record set by Irish chef Alan Fisher, which is 119 hours and 57 minutes.
The Ghanaian chef announced to her fans and supporters via a press release, that she received a message from the Records Management Team, indicating a violation of the rest break rules.
Though the Guinness World Record acknowledges the chef’s attempt, they encouraged her to endeavor to try again next time.
The press release contained the following;
“The attempt, which captivated audiences worldwide, unfortunately fell short of meeting the stringent guidelines set forth by Guinness World Records. A statement from the Records Management Team cited violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt. While the outcome may not be what we anticipated, I am deeply thankful for the unwavering support from our sponsors and partners, as well as the encouragement from our fans. Your backing has been instrumental throughout this journey Although this attempt did not result in a world record, it has been an invaluable experience.
