Popular Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, widely recognised as Ayra Starr has spoken candidly about her relationship with record label partner Rema.
Mavin Records signee Ayra disclosed that she provides the Jonzing/Mavin Records act with access to her unreleased songs for listening, in exchange for his candid evaluations.
In a recent interview with CapitalXtra in the UK, the “Sabi” hitmaker disclosed that Rema is not just an incredible artist but also a very dear friend.
She said that she used to look up to him before signing with the record label and that his tale of a successful adolescent career inspired her.
Ayra Starr said;
“He is my very good friend, I looked up to Rema even before I joined the label, his first EP I was like ‘wow this is a Nigerian teenage boy and he was like 18, I didn’t know that was possible, I could do this too’
He is very honest with me, I play him almost every song before it comes out. He’s a very good friend and he is an amazing artiste, I am very inspired by him.”
