Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has stated that it would be unrealistic to expect him to release the sort of music with which he began his career.

The “Playboy” singer claimed that since the 2019 release of his debut album, “Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps,” his music has evolved.

In an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, Fireboy DML said as much, adding that it would be hard for him to work on another project of similar calibre given that he’s become a millionaire with exposure

Additionally, he disclosed that he had dabbled in some of the things he had sworn he would never do before becoming a millionaire.

The YBNL musician advised anybody who is dissatisfied with his new sound to check out his debut album if they want to hear the ‘old’ him.

He said:

“Sometimes you may think you are one person, then N50 million will enter your account and you will realise you are a different person. There were a lot of things I said I would never do or be until I became a millionaire.

So, how do you expect a 27-year-old millionaire, who has experienced life to make another album like ‘LTG’ again? Think about it. How? Even the album [‘LTG’] it’s not every time you going to be in the mood to listen to it. Sometimes, it maybe ‘Apollo’, or ‘Playboy.’ I think people need to understand that artists are human beings too and they need to grow.”
