Popular Nigerian singer, Joseph Akinwale, known professionally as Joeboy has shared his perspective on Wizkid’s recent statement about not being an Afrobeat artiste.
Speaking with Reality TV star, Tacha during an interview on The Big Friday Show, the singer gave an insight on his romantic relationship and versatility in his musical career, noting that he is concern about making good music for people to enjoy.
Responding to Wizkid’s recent statement, Joeboy explained that the identity of Nigerian artiste is Afrobeat music but doesn’t mean they can’t make other genres of music. He said the statement was to change the narrative that an Afrobeat artiste is not capable of being versatile with other genres of music to make a melodious piece. People tend to limit artiste to only Afrobeat music.
According to the artiste, he can produce good music with the different genres of music. He exclaimed that he is not anxious about people’s opinion on the kind of music he makes but majorly concern on producing a masterpiece his fans can enjoy and vibe on.
Discussing about his romantic life, Joeboy mentioned that his relationship is over two years old and still waxing strong. He noted his red flag is when a lady doesn’t spend for her man; each partner should reciprocate with good deeds.
