A Nigerian journalist has taken to social media to advise men against relocating with their wives to Canada, based on the experience of one of his compatriots.
In a video shared online, the journalist revealed that the man had sold all his properties, including his supermarket in the Ogba area of Lagos, for N40 million to sponsor their relocation to Canada.
After they settled in Canada with their children, the man grew tired of the country and its cold environment and decided to return to Nigeria to start afresh.
During his stay in Nigeria, his wife obtained a Diploma, secured a good job, and upskilled herself while taking care of their kids.
After spending six years in Nigeria, he chose to return to Canada following the election of the incumbent president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Unfortunately, he struggled to find a good job due to a lack of marketable skills and opted for a menial job.
According to the journalist, the man’s wife and children began to disrespect and talk down to him, presumably due to his financial status.
In light of this, the journalist advised men against relocating with their wives abroad, as they may start acting like demigods.
