A Gambian bride, identified as Meta Mbye, has been celebrated by her husband and family members for passing her virginity test.
A video circulating online shows her relatives dancing and jubilating after the test confirmed her virginity status.
A relative, who waited outside while the virginity test was being conducted, revealed that Meta’s husband gave her over D28,000, which converts to N300,000 in Naira.
According to the relative, the husband was very proud of his wife and rewarded her with the said sum as compensation for keeping her virginity.
She said, “The husband was so happy that he gave her D28,000, which was placed under her pillows.”
After the test, some of the elders praised Meta’s mother for raising her daughter well.

It was gathered that they had concerns about her virginity because of the ‘baddie’ lifestyle she portrays on social media. Interestingly, her TikTok username is “Baddie_meta”.

Meanwhile, the video has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many commending Meta for remaining a virgin until her wedding day, while others argue that virginity testing should be scrapped because it is violating and humiliating.
Some individuals also questioned whether the husband underwent a virginity test.
