There was widespread jubilation in Ondo State after Chef Deo, real name Adeyeye Adeola, completed her 150-hour cooking marathon.
The Nigerian chef kickstarted the cook-a-thon on Friday, June 30, in Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, with the goal of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by an individual.
In a recent update, Chef Deo successfully accomplished her cooking marathon in the late hours of Thursday, July 6, to the joy and delight of people who came from far and near to witness the record-breaking feat.
A video capturing the moment she reached the 150-hour milestone has been shared online, and it shows her spectators jubilating and celebrating her.
The current holder of the title is Nigerian chef and restauranteur, Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Baci, with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.

A video that recently emerged online suggests that the Ondo chef turned off the gas burner and comfortably ate one of the dishes she prepared.
This seemingly contradicts one of the rules of Guinness World Record for the cook-a-thon which states that the participant must not turn off the gas burner during the marathon. Watch here
