A Nigerian man has expressed outrage over the fact that Mohbad’s mother is the one living in his house and receiving dignitaries, even though it was the father who raised him.
It’s no news that the singer’s mother has been the one visited by sympathizers, including political dignitaries like the Lagos state deputy governor, Femi Hamzat, Senator Elisha Abbo, actress Tonto Dikeh, and others, since he suddenly passed away on Tuesday, September 12.
On the flip side, his father has faced heavy criticism on social media for his comments about his properties and complaining about receiving only N1 million out of the N2 million Davido donated to their family. Many condemned him for seemingly focusing on his son’s assets barely two days after his passing.
In response to the mixed opinions about the singer’s parents, a young man, while chatting with his friends, shared his pain that Mohbad’s mother is currently living in his Lekki home, enjoying AC, after abandoning him and his sister for 15 years. Meanwhile, his father, who struggled to raise him, is facing criticism on social media.
He went on to say that he understands that Mohbad’s father made some controversial statements after his death but excused it, stating that not everyone is skilled in communication. He also criticized the Ikorodu youths who interviewed the late singer’s dad during his vulnerable moment and shared the videos online.
He further urged Nigerians to treat the late singer’s parents with equal respect, instead of showing favoritism to his mother.
