A Nigerian teacher, identified as Bello Habeeb Galadanchi, has reacted after being criticized for choosing to teach pupils in China instead of his own country.
Bello, who hails from Kano state and speaks fluent Chinese, occasionally shares videos of himself teaching his primary school class in China on social media.
However, some netizens often criticize him for teaching in a foreign country instead of imparting his knowledge to Nigerian children.

Reacting to the criticisms on Thursday, June 8, Bello, who holds a Phd in Comparative English, explained that teachers are well respected and treated like kings in China than in Nigeria.
He also shared a shopping card he received from the school, which is separate from his salary, and emphasized that his salaries and benefits are amazing.
“I’ve received a lot of criticism for teaching primary school kids in China, instead of Nigeria. Out of the blue, our HR office gave out these cards (2nd biggest retail app in China) to all teachers yesterday just to show appreciation. You can only imagine what our salaries are,” he tweeted.
When a follower chided him for focusing on money alone, he said,
“Please don’t go around Nigeria telling people that “The Pay is better” is not deep. Also, my answer is implied, if you read it well, it means “we are well taken cared of”. On the other hand, your comment is shallow.”

I taught my Primary 1 students how to make boats, test them, record the experience using iPads, analyze the footage and find sources of problems on their boats. Sharing a little bit about my day job with you amazing people 😊😊😊 pic.twitter.com/5N5QNrcWl1
