Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has accused fast-rising artiste Crown Uzama, better known as Shallipopi, of cheating his way to the top on a music chart.
Shallipopi, who was recently released from prison after being arrested and convicted for internet fraud, released a song titled “Ex-Convict.”
Within days of its release, the track reached the number 2 spot on Apple Music Nigeria. However, Portable expressed his skepticism about this achievement.
In a video he shared online, Portable alleged that Shallipopi uses streaming farms to artificially boost the popularity of his song and rapidly climb the charts.
He questioned Shallipopi’s fame and the number of fans he has that could have propelled his song to the top spot on Apple Music within such a short period.
“Who be that Shallipopi? they will still carry you. You wey dem just release. How many music you sing? Who sabi your face? You wey dem just release, you con dey top chart. Me wey go prison, I no top chart.
Shallipopi is a thief, he does not know how to sing, he is using streaming farm, I was taken to Prison and I did not Top chart. I am about to make you popular by calling your name no one knew you before, Your face no blow, Shallipopi come let me sign you to Zeh Nation and teach you how to sing”. Portable said in part.
