The governorship candidate for the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has responded to the criticism from popular comedian Seyi Law.
The response came in to a claim made by Seyi Law regarding the candidate’s alleged threat against traditional rulers in Lagos state.
In a video shared by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, he passionately expressed his commitment to restoring the authority of traditional rulers, which he believes has been undermined by colonialism and subsequent governments.
He emphasized that empowering traditional rulers would enable them to act independently without seeking clearance from state governments.
The controversy arose when Seyi Law accused the Labour Party candidate of threatening to make traditional rulers “go under the bridge” if he emerged victorious in the 2023 governorship election in Lagos.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour denied these allegations and condemned Seyi Law for spreading what he considers to be false information.
