The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a lady, identified as Precious Iwuji, for allegedly selling her photographs and Facebook account to internet fraudsters.
According to EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, the suspect was arrested in the Sabo area of Kaduna state, following an intelligence report about her alleged involvement in cyber fraud.
Wilson said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect engaged in impersonation by selling her photographs and Facebook account to internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys, who used them to defraud unsuspecting victims.
He further added that Iwuji and others arrested will be charged to court soon.
In other news, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Uyo Zonal Command, has secured the conviction of two bank officials identified as Daniel Akpan Eno and Mbuk Idongesit before Justice Edem Ita Kufre of the Cross River State High Court, Calabar for conspiracy and theft of funds in the account of a deceased customer of a commercial bank.
