Lagos State government has ordered the destruction of a shrine constructed close to a main road at Moshalasi Bus Stop, Ile Epo in Iyana Ipaja.
This is following after several stop-work orders and physical assault of the personnel working with the state’s parks and gardens agency.
The video circulating online reveals the environmental officers demolishing the shrine without any form of hindrance.
In the tweet,
“After several stop-work notices served and physical assault on the personnel of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency , the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps earlier today removed the Shrine constructed close to a main road at Moshalasi Bus Stop, Ile Epo in Iyana Ipaja. The Lagos State government is again warning everyone to desist from constituting any form of environmental nuisance on the State parks and gardens as this will be met with prosecution.”
The office of the commissioner has hereby sent a warning note to desist from any form of environmental nuisance in the state. He noted that offenders will be prosecuted squarely.
Netizens wondered how a spiritualist had the audacity to construct a shrine on government property, particularly close to a road. Many praised the environmental agency for taking proper measures to promote cleanliness in the state.
