Actor, Kunle Idowu popularly known as Frank Donga, has taken to Twitter to address the common misconception that leaving Nigeria is the guarantee for success.
The media personality’s statement comes amid the current craze of Nigerian youths to “japa” – i.e, relocate to a foreign country in order to escape the struggles of living in Nigeria.
According to Frank Donga, leaving the country does not guarantee a person will get rich. To balance the scale, he added that staying in Nigeria does not also mean the person is more patriotic.
In the post shared on Twitter, Frank Donga noted that the major desire of people is to maximise their potentials and live in peace, regardless of the location.
He tweeted,
“The truth is leaving Nigeria does not guarantee you’ll get rich. Likewise, deciding to stay does NOT mean you’re more patriotic. Sometimes, all people want is where they can maximize their potentials & live in peace. Whatever you decide to do, I pray your dreams come true.”
