Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, has written an open letter to members of the gay community on the practice they should drop in 2022.
Bisi, in a post shared on his Instastory, told his fellow homosexuals to make 2023 the year they stop trying to marry straight women to hide their sexuality.
He wrote,
“Dear fellow gay men,
let’s make 2023 the year you stop trying to marry straight women. We can do better.”

Bisi, who is the first Nigerian to openly declare his sexuality as gay on national television, urged others still in the closet to come out.
According to him, if they open up about their sexuality there parents won’t die, insisting that it’s a lie used to keep them in closet.
Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote,
“Dear Nigerian LGBTQI+ people, your parents won’t die if you come out; it’s a lie that used to keep you in the closet. You have your life to live; enjoy it.”
