A 45-year-old Belgian man, David Baerten, recently pulled a crazy prank on his family as a ploy to get them to spend quality time with him.
David, who was suffering from loneliness, devised an unusual plan to fake his own death and make a grand entrance at his own funeral, where his family would be gathered.
He reportedly told his wife and daughter about his plan, and they willingly agreed to partake in the charade, even to the extent of posting about his death on social media.
As planned, David turned up for his funeral in a helicopter, leaving his grieving family members shocked to the bone.
He repeatedly told them that he pulled the prank to teach them a lesson on the importance of staying in touch with each other.
A video capturing the moment he stormed his funeral has been shared online, stirring mixed reactions from online users. While some defended him, others claimed the prank was “cruel”.
