A male undergraduate from one of the top universities in Lagos shares his lecturer’s reaction after he replied to him with a slang during a lecture.
According to the student, they were having an online Zoom class when the lecturer asked if they understood all he had been teaching them so far. The boy said, “Ride on, sir,” which denoted that he understood and would like the lecturer to continue his teaching.
However, the lecturer took it wrongly by flaring up and asking the boy what he meant by the word. He said offensively, “What do you mean by ride-on? Is it ride-on monkey or ride-on woman?”
This exchange has sparked funny reactions online with netizens reeling with laughter. Here are some of the comments:

ralph_vianney: Ah this man don spoil
why did he take it personal
Joe: “ride on” can be used informally in a classroom setting to encourage a lecturer to continue with their lecture or presentation. It’s similar to saying “go on” or “keep going.”
