A 32-year-old man has been stabbed to death by his friend over 30Ghs (N2000) in the incident which occurred at the Asokore Mampong municipality, Ghana.
The assailant, identified simply as Afriyie, reportedly accosted the deceased, Amos Arthur at a drinking spot accusing him of removing a memory chip from a phone he had given the deceased to repair.
With no provocation, he stabbed the deceased in the shoulder and in his chest defying a plea from the deceased’s mother to pay him the thirty cedis for the memory chip.
An eyewitness and a friend of the deceased, Kingsley Adjei, who narrated the incident to Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote-Fumador, indicated that Amos was well known in the community for repairing phones and computers.
He said:
“The boy had given him a phone to repair but he realized that his chip had been taken out of the phone. He came to Amos’ house and reported the issue to his mother and demanded that he be paid thirty cedis for the cost of the allegedly stolen memory chip.”
“His mother asked him to come back later for the money but he stormed upstairs where they have a drinking spot and met Amos sitting there. He stabbed him in the shoulder from behind and stabbed him again in his heart.
“When his father called residents and the police for help he was already dead and I was part of the people who carried him into the police vehicle to be sent to the mortuary,”
