A freak accident involving a train and a staff bus belonging to the Lagos state government occurred at Fajuyi Adekunle way in the Ikeja area of the state.
It was gathered that the BRT bus was trying to cross the railway when the train rammed into it in the early hours of Thursday, March 9.
A yet-to-be specified number of persons lost their lives in the accident, while several persons suffered varying levels of injuries.
Photos and videos making rounds online shows some unconscious bodies lying on the floor, and injured persons nursing their wounds.
Some well-meaning Nigerians were also captured trying to rescue the remaining passengers trapped in the bus.

Just yesterday, tragedy struck in the wee hours of Wednesday, March 8, when a mysterious raging fire gutted Akere Spare Parts Market in Olodi-Apapa, Lagos state.
The corpse of a male adult was recovered around the scene, suspected to have died from a gunshot wound as there were no signs of burns on him.
Margaret Adeseye, the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, have stated that the cause of the fire is “suspicious”. Watch video here
