Nigerian superstar singer Mayorkun has promised to pay a prize to anyone who finds and returns his stolen diamond pendant.
Mayorkun, who gave a performance on Monday night at the Calabar Festival, expressed his deep regret over the theft of two of his pricey custom-made diamond pendants.
Sharing an update on the microblogging platform, X, his colleague, Iyanya, revealed that one of the diamond necklaces had been recovered, and they were now searching for the other.
He wrote;
“Thank you the guy who brought this back this morning to THE GRAND HOTEL CALABAR. Just returned now is 1 of 2 of @Mayorkun jewelry. We have one more to go, my brothers if you have the second one please help us return it.
This one has still not been found, please check around, I’m sure we have it somewhere and will please return the second one to our brother, before he leaves Calabar. Just got Grand Hotel Calabar and drop it there, there’s a reward waiting for you on arrival.”
Mayorkun, in a tweet, also pledged to award N5 million to anyone who finds and returns the necklace to him as soon as possible.
The musician provided an update on the actions taken, stating that he had met with Bassey Otu, the governor of Cross River State, who promised to compensate him.
Mayorkun wrote;
“Just met with the Governor of Cross River state, H.E Prince Bassey Otu. He assured me that Calabar people remain very hospitable and he has also stressed that I ll be compensated for my valuables lost. Thank you sir 🫶🏾
