The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps has apprehended some miscreants who were charging passer-bys N100 before they were allowed to use the makeshift crossover bridge at Tradefair.
The video which captured the young men committing these acts, went viral, and many internet users called for them to be brought to justice.
The clip had captured the men, charging pedestrians hundred naira before letting them use the makeshift crossover bridge.
The Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Lagos, Tokunbo Wahab swung into action after he came across the video.
He disclosed that the preparators of the acts had been caught, then went on to share videos of them being whipped away by the LAGESC.
The commissioner also mentioned in the tweet he shared on X (Twitter) that the men who be prosecuted according to the law.
His tweet read; “Following a complaint made by @ARISE0214, miscreants charging people for using the makeshift crossover bridge at Tradefair this morning have been arrested by the operatives of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps @LAGESCOfficial. They will be prosecuted according to the law.“
While some Nigerians thanked him for his swift response to the situation, others tagged him to other environmental problems.
