Miss USA 2019, Cheslie Kryst, has died from suicide at the age of 30.
The former beauty queen and lawyer reportedly jumped from the 60-storey Orion building at 350 W. 42nd Street in the early hours of Sunday, January 30.
Kryst, who lived on the ninth floor of the building, was last seen on a terrace on the 29th floor and she was said to have been alone when she leapt to her death.
Few hours before she jumped, Kryst took to her Instagram page to share a photo of herself with the caption, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

Her family has confirmed the devastating news in a statement that reads,
“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie.
“Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.
“Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA.
“But most importantly as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague — we know her impact will live on.”
According to the police, Kryst left a note giving everything to her mother but she didn’t explain why decided to take her own life.
