The 16th edition of the annual gospel concert, The Experience was held in Lagos, Nigeria as convener of the globally recognized concert and senior Pastor of the House on the Rock church, Paul Adefarasin, hosted gospel artistes from around the globe to offer renditions of praise to God.
But what started out as a praise and worship session took a whole different turn when a representative of the Lagos State governor was invited on stage to give a speech on behalf of the governor.
While giving his speech, noise of booing erupted from the congregation when he quoted a portion of the scripture, with people giving him a thumbs down and shouting that he should leave the stage. Till the end of his speech, the representative received a very hostile reception from the congregation, who were mostly youths and were seemingly agitated by his presence.
It’s no news that most youths in Lagos are quite enraged over the perceived lack of action by the state’s governor following the report that was given by the judicial panel set up to look into the tragic event that occurred at the Lekki Toll Gate in 20th of October, 2020.
With no appreciable reaction from the governor concerning the report, quite a number of people have been outraged, especially when the governor, rather announced a “peace walk” for the “healing of the state”.
