A video of the bizarre moment a drug cartel baron was buried with many sophisticated weapons to “protect himself in the afterlife” has been shared online.
The 39-year-old drug lord, identified as Manuel Julian Sevillano Bustamante, was reportedly the leader of ‘Los Fatales’, a criminal gang that operates in the Los Rios region of Ecuador and has links to other drug cartels in South America.
Bustamante was shot dead alongside his 20-year-old daughter and a security guard on Wednesday, September 13, while at a car wash in Mocache.
According to reports, the deceased used to regularly visit the same car wash, which made it easy for his assailants to plot his assassination.
During his funeral, members of his cartel were captured on video placing an array of firearms inside his casket, as shared by an unnamed attendee.
These firearms included pistols, shotguns, rifles, and various other weaponry, with the intention of ensuring that he would be “armed to the teeth in the afterlife and could defend himself.”
Someone then placed a hat on the deceased’s head as a finishing touch before closing the casket and lowering him into the earth.

In other news, a tragic incident unfolded in Sinaloa, Mexico, as a 32-year-old pilot named Luis Ángel N lost his life in a plane crash during a gender reveal celebration.
The expecting couple had hired the pilot to mark the joyous occasion with family and friends by having his small jet release either pink or blue colored powder to reveal the baby’s gender.
However, as the Cessna plane entered the scene, releasing pink smoke into the sky, its left wing suddenly tilted upwards. The aircraft spiraled uncontrollably before crashing down in a nearby field.
