After Nigeria’s thrilling victory over South Africa in the AFCON semifinals on Wednesday, February 7, some people living in Rivers State trooped to Stanley Nwabali’s father’s house to celebrate.

It comes as no surprise that Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper of Nigeria’s national team Super Eagles, has been receiving widespread praise for his outstanding saves during the match.

In other news, popular Nigerian singer and rapper Portable has admonished his colleagues who claim to own Amapiano and discredit Afrobeat.

Speaking in a video he shared on his Instagram page he asked them to value their music type and leave Amapiano for the South Africans.

Portable started by addressing his colleagues who plan on using music they made with Amapiano beats to collect awards internationally.

The rapper also criticized his colleagues for putting more energy into making Amapiano music while ignoring their own sound type.

He went on to encourage them to promote their individual Afrobeat genre, then maybe they would be considered for awards internationally.

In a part of the video he was heard saying; “Go back to Afrobeat, Amapiano belongs to South Africans and they’ve collected a Grammy Award, stop copying their beats and promote Afrobeat instead, when you don’t promote Afrobeat you can’t receive a Grammy Award.” Read here
