Theresa Bassey, a Facebook user has dropped a controversial opinion on the NSPPD prayer conference of Nigerian popular pastor Jerry Eze held in the United Kingdom recently.
Unimpressed by the online buzz of how the crusade was a hit with massive crowd, she wrote to elaborate her point, “I knew this my post go pain una plenty because you over religious folks are so emotional! Most Uk people are bored!!!( come to my house and query me) If Asake, Burna and the likes can shut down a stadium with a fee of £40 why can’t a prayer session that is free have the crowd from a country that majority of people were raised Christians. I ask again what is the fuss about? What exactly is special? Una never answer me.”
Read some of the mixed reactions this view generated:
Ini-Ibehe Nabuk: It’s pathetic how crowd has now become a thing to celebrate in Christianity. What crowd can’t do doesn’t exist.
Ogbonnaya Nwota: Of course, you said the truth. Even you too can get that crowd or even more if you organise a talk show in Uk….after all, people in Uk are bored, and looking for events to attend.
Nnaemeka Madubuike: The fact that most of them are people who will go to Asake, Wizkid and Burna Boy’s concerts makes it all the more SPECIAL. It’s not easy getting people like that to attend a religious gathering. But then, she doesn’t know this.
