Music producer Mustard has filed for divorce from his wife and long-term partner, Chanel Thierry, less than two years after they got married.
The couple, who have been dating since they were 19, became engaged in 2018 and married in October 2020, are now calling it quits over irreconcilable differences.
Mustard, whose real name is Dijon McFarlane, filed for divorce from Thierry on Monday, May 2 in Los Angeles and is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their three children.
The Blast reports that, Mustard says they entered into a pre-marital agreement and the property and cash should be divided accordingly. He is asking that his “jewelry and other personal effects” be ordered his sole and separate property, along with “earning and accumulations…before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation.
However, confirming the news in an Instagram post, Chanel Thierry said it was heartbreaking to see things end after dedicating over 12 loyal years to their relationship.
In her words,
“Thank you for the kind words, thoughts, and prayer. Anyone that followed me or knows me personally knows my family means the world to me. I’ve [dedicated] 12 loyal years and it is more [than] heartbreaking to see things end.”
