It appears that cancel culture is gaining traction in Nigeria, as singer Naira Marley is currently facing cancellation on social media due to alleged mistreatment of his former label signee, Mohbad.
Recall that after Mohbad passed away on September 12, videos surfaced showing him being harassed and assaulted by individuals reportedly affiliated with Naira Marley.
This sparked outrage on social media, with many criticizing the Marlian Music boss and demanding his arrest, as well as that of his associate, Sam Larry.
Netizens also began mass unfollowing him and encouraged others to do the same, asserting that he is finished in the Nigerian music industry.
The singer used to have 7.4 million followers on the photo and video sharing platform. However, as of the time of this report, he has 6.8 million followers, indicating a loss of over 600,000 followers.

In other news, Nigerian music executive Kevin Madison, also known as K-Solo, has boldly declared that Naira Marley is involved in the demise of his former signee, Mohbad.
During an interview with Channels TV on Sunday, September 17, K-Solo asserted that the Marlian Music boss cannot deny his involvement in Mohbad’s death, given that he failed to protect him from the constant intimidation, assault, and harassment he suffered before his death. Read here
