Netizens have heavily criticized Wizkid for failing to show fatherly love to his first son, Boluwatife Balogun, whom he welcomed with Shola Ogudu in 2011.
Boluwatife turned 11 on Friday, May 13, but the Grammy Award winner seemingly forgot to celebrate him on his social media page which sparked an uproar from netizens who have incessantly accused him of not “loving” his first son.
The 31-year-old singer was dragged to the mud by netizens and advised to emulate his colleague, Davido, who loves his children equally and never misses any important event in their lives.
It seems the comments got to the singer as he eventually took to his Instastory around 7PM to share an old photo of his son with eagle and love emojis.
He didn’t write any epistle to celebrate his son, or accompany the picture with a simple “happy birthday” message, and this made it feel like he made the post to fulfil all righteousness so people would leave him alone.
While some netizens opined that the “Essence” hitmaker must have called his son privately to celebrate him and given him birthday gifts, others stated that it’s not an excuse for him not to acknowledge him publicly knowing fully well that he’s a public figure with eyes on him.
