American rapper Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit over allegations of unpaid bills for custom jewelry.
Roseark Jewelry store, located in West Hollywood, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper after claiming that she damaged some of the jewelry they had loaned her.
In response, Nicki’s attorney has stated that she is not responsible for the alleged damages, suggesting that the jeweler is simply seeking publicity by involving her in the lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, Nicki’s stylist, Brett Alan Nelson, had signed a contract with Roseark Jewelry Store, wherein the store agreed to lend Nicki the jewelry for a public appearance.
The contract also stipulated that Brett should return the jewelry within a week and be responsible for any damages that may occur while the jewelry is under his care.
However, it is claimed that Nicki’s stylist failed to return 66 pieces of jewelry by the agreed-upon deadline. Moreover, when the items were eventually returned, it was discovered that a set of earrings and a leaf ring had noticeable damage.
A source close to Nicki told TMZ that everything was returned on time as promised, and it was only after items had been in the jeweler’s possession for some time that the store complained about a missing stone.
