A Nigerian actor, Joseph Daniel has taken to the internet to show Nigerians how expensive things are abroad.
The man in a video which has now gone viral, held up a sandwich saying, “Nigeria bad, Nigeria bad, okay. See what I bought for €9, that is ₦16,000+ in Europe. Just this one, no coke, no water, nothing..”
Joseph Daniel said this to lament the inflation in Europe, while drawing up a comparison with the Nigerian currency.
To him, the latter is better than the former, thereby insinuating that Nigerians who bemoan the country’s recent economy and over-the-roof-inflation are either liars or ignorant.
As expected, Nigerians took to schooling him on the differences between the two countries’ currency value and income wage. Read the comments:
@GabrielOlaniyi4: I degree with your explanations, you can’t compare euro’s to African or Nigeria because of exchange rate.
@big_theo__: Things are expensive everywhere now, but the inflation in Nigeria is just too high
@mpiredivine: Mtscheew… All these people will just stay abroad and be dropping all kinds of yeye narratives. What is the income level of the average person in Europe? Is it comparable to Nigeria? 👀😩🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
