A Nigerian dad, Mike Ekunno, has shared the letter he wrote to his son’s principal after he was repeatedly bullied and traumatized by his school mates.
This comes amid the controversy surrounding the death of 12-year-old Dowen college student, Sylvester Oromoni, who was allegedly tortured by his seniors.
Ekunno took to Facebook to share how he handled his son’s case back in 2018, while he was a student of the Federal Government College, Abuja.
In the letter, the concerned dad informed the school principal about the insistent bullying his son was subjected to by his senior colleagues.
He wrote in part, “My son, Ifesinachi, 10, is an intelligent is a bold and a free-spirited boy. His mother and I are shocked at the transformation of his personality since enrolling in your school at the start of this academic session. He has suddenly turned timorous, scared and fidgety, apart from losing about 10kg from his entry level of 50kg…”
He went further to list the names of the culprits and stated that he won’t hesitate to take actions against them if they are not cautioned.
Ekunno however disclosed that he had to withdraw his son from the school to save his life.
“Copy of my letter to the school authority over the bullying of my son. I finally had to withdraw him without sitting for his promotional exam to keep him alive,” he captioned it.
