A man has raised concerns about the competence of engineering students after witnessing their inability to repair a generator at a party, requiring the assistance of an artisan.
Sharing on Twitter (X), the man @winexviv disclosed that the generator suddenly developed a fault while the Mechanical Engineering final year students of Imo State University were hosting a graduation party.
To his surprise, none of the engineering graduates had any idea how to fix the generator which resulted in searching for a skilled generator artisan.
Following the incident, he questioned the quality of graduates, asserting that most are unemployable graduates who lack literacy.
Tweeps have broken down the engineering specialties with different traits to criticize the man’s view of the graduates. Many asserted that the Nigerian university curriculum in engineering courses is intended to educate students on theory rather than practicals.
