Nollywood actress, Etinosa Idemudia, has reacted to the tribal discrimination and intimidation that occurred during the 2023 presidential and governorship election in Nigeria.
It’s no secret that the recently concluded election in Nigeria was not free and fair, with multiple reports of electoral violence, thuggery, tribalism, and rigging in various states.
During the governorship and state assembly elections last Saturday, the majority of Igbos in Lagos state were denied the right to vote and were turned away by thugs who infiltrated various polling units.
Several videos which made rounds online showed thugs parading the streets and warning Igbos and others who planned not to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stay at home for their own safety.
Reacting to the rather heartbreaking event, Etinosa, in an Instastory post, related the issue of tribalism to racism experienced by blacks outside the country.
The mother of one stated that no Nigerian should ever complain about suffering racism abroad because they are no different from racist folks.
She wrote:
“After all I have witnessed in this country, No Nigerian should ever cry about racism cos y’all … Nah. Y’all are the real MVPs. Keep it up”
