A Nigerian woman living in Germany was shocked to witness German cars stopping in traffic, waiting patiently for geese to cross.
After realizing that the geese were the reason for the gridlock, the woman @doro_bless16 exclaimed, observing that drivers were forced to wait for 30 minutes.
She pointed out that vehicles going back and forth were forced to wait patiently for the geese to make it across the road safely.
She said, gesturing in the background, that in Nigeria, people would take their portion of the geese and use them to make mouthwatering dishes because the birds wouldn’t make it through the day.
She listed several dishes that might be made with the geese. The geese appeared to have reached maturity and fit to eat for an African meal.
However, she did express amazement at the German law governing animals in contrast to the Nigerian constitution. She identified the geese as owners of the road.
Online users asserted that Nigerians, especially in Abuja, where cows cross the street daily, likewise wait patiently for animals to cross.
Some others remarked that Nigerians’ treatment of animals shouldn’t be compared to how people in the diaspora care for their animals.
