A young woman, identified as Alice Mulak, has been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police for stabbing her boyfriend to death.
Alice, who hails from Ungwan Gwari, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa, is said to have stabbed her boyfriend to death during a heated argument.
According to the spokesperson of the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday, October 14, 2022, a preliminary investigation revealed that the incident happened behind the City Rock Hotel, Mararaba, at about 0330hrs when the deceased and his girlfriend engaged themselves in fisticuffs as a result of a misunderstanding.
“Hence, the suspect was arrested and the knife used in perpetrating the offence was consequently recovered based on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi.
“The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.” The statement read.
In related news, operatives of the Ogun state police command recently arrested a businessman identified as Badejo Ranti for allegedly killing his wife, Afolashade Taibat Adewusi, in her sleep.
It was gathered that the incident happened at their residence in the Mowe area of Ogun state.
A source familiar with the family said that the couple, who had been married for 7 years, had an argument over their children’s school fees.
According to the source, during the argument, the man rushed out of the house furious and later came back that night to find his wife asleep.
Still upset about their earlier argument, he reportedly powered an iron and used it on her body till she gave up the ghost.
Neighbors who had heard the wife scream for help rushed to their apartment. However, the man claimed that his wife died as a result of electrocution.
He was handed over to the police by the neighbors.
