The Joint Administration and Matriculation Board, JAMB, is currently trending topic on twitter and it is in fact, number one on the trending chart – this comes after their recent announcement left people pondering about the future of education in Nigeria.
The educational body has fixed minimum cut off marks for admissions into universities in Nigeria at 120, polytechnics and colleges of education at 100, while that of innovative enterprising institutes at 110. Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.
The fact that ‘120’ was set as the minimum cut off mark for admissions into Nigerian universities isn’t all that pleasant to the ears of some Nigerians and so on social media, they reacted angrily at what is perceived as a blow to the Nigerian educational system.

Cut off mark for JAMB is now 120/400. They lowered the standards for President Buhari. They lowered the standards for Nigerian students.

The problem with Nigeria is not JAMB cutoff marks, it's the fact that we have very few & ill equipped universities to serve the masses

Jamb cutoff is now 120? Why not let people get into uni without writing jamb then? What's the point?

If you chose UI, Unilag, Uniben, OAU and go on to score 120 in Jamb thinking you will be given admission.
