Popular reality TV star and brand influencer, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has spoken about how expensive it is to be a celebrity in Nigeria.
The Big Brother Naija star, who recently lambasted a troll who dragged her for repeating an outfit, stated in a video she shared on social media that being a celebrity is high maintenance.
Tacha noted that most celebrities deserve accolades for the lengths they go to in order to live up to their celebrity standards.
Speaking further, she recounted an encounter with an immigration officer at Heathrow Airport in London, who expressed shock after she realized she spent about a month in Dubai.
She said the officer had to ask what she does for a living, and when she revealed she’s an influencer, the officer couldn’t still figure out how she could afford the lifestyle.
She added that she finds it quite amusing when she sees her colleagues try to impress fans who do not understand how tasking being a celebrity is.
“Being a celebrity is high maintenance, it’s a lot of money. It’s crazy, so when you see the celebrities you clap for them, because it’s a lot”, she said in part.
