A Nigerian man has bemoaned the habit of Nigerians being more interested in tragic events than happy ones.
The man, identified on Twitter as Oláyinka Owólewa, recalled how very few people reached out to congratulate him or visit when his child was born two years ago.
He said, but when the child sadly died six months later, those who showed up to condole with him were more than those who had congratulated him when the child was born.
Taking to Twitter, Olayinka voiced his disappointment with this personality flaw, which he claims is typical of the majority of Nigerians.
He stated this while reacting to another tweet that said, “Banky W appears to have received more support since he lost the election than he did when he was running.”
“That is what Nigerians do to you. Some 2yrs ago, when me and my wife had a new baby, the people that called me or visited me when the baby died after 6 months were much more than those that congratulated me when the baby arrived.” He wrote.
