Popular Nigerian Disc Jockey, DJ Switch has joined several other Nigerians to slam actor cum politician, Desmond Elliot, over his comments on Nigerian youths and the use of social media.
DJ Switch has faulted Desmond for calling the Nigerian youths “children”, adding that he has proven that having young persons in power, may not bring desired change.
According to her, Desmond calling youths, influencers and celebrities children is annoying.
Recall that, in a video that surfaced online yesterday, the lawmaker called for the regulation of social media in the country, while he described the youths as “children”.
In his words,
“When I read the comments, I could not believe it, Mr Speaker. The curses, abuses from children and I asked myself is this Nigeria, what is going on?
“Children cursing, people entering Oba’s palace and removing his staff of office, our culture is gone.”
In reaction to the Lagos lawmakers speech, DJ Switch noted that he’s angry because the youths have decided to make their voices heard.
In her words,
“Desmond Elliot calling us children is very annoying.
“He his angry at the celebrities and influencers because they have a voice?
“He is not even angry about the Lekki Massacre. He has proven to us that it not by having a young person there but a competent one.”
