Controversial singer, Portable, has made another jarring statement, this time regarding the late AfroBeat legend Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti, popularly known as Fela Kuti.

The singer speaking in a recent interview on the Echoo Room, claimed that if the legendary artist and activist had kept to himself he would have lived longer. He criticized the artist for fighting for Nigerians who weren’t ready to fight for themselves, saying that he should have minded his business and kept to his own affairs.

he said;

“According to what we were told, if Fela had minded his business a little he would have lived longer. But he was busy fighting for Nigerians wey no fight for their selves.”

His bold statements have garnered mixed reactions online, with many claiming that they weren’t even surprised at this point, as the singer is known for speaking out-of-pocket.

Regardless, the statement has garnered backlash as many feel that he is mocking the legacy of the great Musician who was one of the pioneers of Afro-beats and a staunch advocate for the defense of human rights.

In the interview, he also spoke about his ongoing feud with popular Nigerian singer Davido, saying;

“I was in America looking for foreign artistes. I was busy displaying my madness online when Davido called me to come. Me and Davido did not quarrel until when the devil Zlatan came.”
