Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo has tendered an apology to popular Afrobeat singer, Wizkid, and his fans for her recent outburst.
Recall that she slammed Wizkid for saying he doesn’t listen to rap because the genre is ‘dead, boring and tired’. He deemed Afrobeats to be the new pop, ranking it higher than other music genres.
At the time, Wizkid’s statement didn’t sit well with many rappers and lovers of the genre, and they went online to share their disapproval.
Similarly, actress, Uche Ogbodo, also tagged Wizkid’s statement as insensitive and noted that his colleague, Davido wouldn’t make such statement.
She further said Wizkid’s singing talent is overhyped, adding that her babydaddy, Bobby Marris, is more talented than him. ICYMI, Read here
Following the mixed reactions that trailed her comment, Uche Ogbodo has now apologized to the music superstar.
She said she overreacted and was humbled when many people, including Wizkid’s fans, went to stream her baby daddy’s new song despite insulting the singer.
Uche wrote,
