Big Brother Naija star, Nengi Hampson, has stirred reactions online after she revealed she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Nengi had taken to Twitter to complain about waking up at 3 a.m. to clean her kitchen, and she attributed her odd cleaning schedule to having OCD.
“My ocd got me cleaning my kitchen at 3am smh”, she tweeted.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic mental health condition that causes repeated unwanted thoughts or sensations (obsessions) or the urge to do something over and over again (compulsions).
People living with OCD typically experience obsessions, or repetitive unwanted thoughts that prompt an extreme urge to repeat a specific behavior.
One characteristic of OCD patients is their inability to tolerate a messy environment or their fixation with maintaining order.
Nengi’s tweet triggered a flurry of reactions from netizens, who pointed out that the reality star probably thought OCD was a fancy word when she claimed to have it.
They maintained that OCD is a serious mental condition that goes beyond waking up at 3 a.m. to clean.
Reacting a Twitter user, @girlsucre1 wrote, “You don’t know OCD until you’re compelled to wash your hands with soap five times, not because five is your favorite number but because five evens everything out for you or something bad will happen to you.”
@Ebubechi247, “Rebecca you do not have OCD, you’re not even big on cleanliness cos if you were you wouldn’t have been able to stay sane with those strangers for 72days”.
@mni___e, “Ocd isn’t just about cleaning. The way some people use it to chase clout, they forget it is a disease.”
