Not less that 14 passengers lost their lives in the ghastly accident that happened along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, on Thursday, May 6th.
It was learnt that the accident, which occurred on Thursday night, May 6th, involved a silver Toyota RAV 4 with registration number, LND 13 GS; a silver Toyota Camry marked, GGE 369 GJ and a Mazda bus with unidentified number.
According to a report by Dailytrust, a commercial bus said to have wrongly overtaken a vehicle had reportedly hit a stationed faulty vehicle, Toyota Rav 4 parked in the middle of the road.
The bus was said to have lost control and somersaulted several times before bursting into flames. The Spokesman of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the accident on Friday morning, May 7th.
Akinbiyi said 14 passengers including three children were confirmed burnt to death in the ghastly accident.
“In all, 17 passengers were in the bus when the crash happened, with three seriously injured, and 14 burnt beyond recognition, among which are three kids,” he said.
