Lata Tondon, the chef who held the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by an individual before Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, took on the challenge, has appealed to Nigerians to maintain peace.
The Indian chef, who cooked non-stop for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019, currently holds the title until the Guinness World Record validates Chef Hilda’s marathon cooking time of over 100 hours, which ended last night.
Chef Tondon had earlier taken to her official Instagram page to send her best wishes to Hilda Baci while she was in the midst of her cooking session.
“All the best Hilda👍
Hope to see you on Official Site of Guinness Book Of World Record Soon !!” she wrote.
Hours after Hilda completed a 100-hour cooking time, Chef Tondon, in a post shared on her Instastory, urged Nigerians to hold their peace until Guinness World Records confirms that Hilda has broken her record.
Emphasizing her love for peace, she appealed to Nigerians not to turn it into a competition between herself and Hilda, as it’s just a record.
Chef Tondon shared a photo from when she set the record in 2019 and wrote,
“A Humble Request to all my Sisters and Brothers in Nigeria & India to maintain peace and wait for Guinness to officially announce if the Current Record is broken or not.
Please don’t make it a Competition it’s just a Record my friends
1am a Peace loving Person and wish same for you”
